Here’s how this role performs at Shepherd:

You’ll work on a team of professionals where you can independently carry out all duties in an ethical manner, while also ensuring patient safety, privacy, dignity and confidentiality.  The Patient Care Technician (PCT) interacts with and contributes to the professional development and image of all unit staff practicing in a Shared Governance model of nursing practice.

Your team and patients will depend on you to observe and effectively communicate changes in patients' conditions to the Registered Nurse and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

And you’ll also be responsible for other tasks such as performing procedures reporting clinical observations and assisting with activities of daily living and practice standard precaution and isolation procedures to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors and staff.

Basic knowledge and experience preferred includes Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and/or Nursing School students with one semester of clinical instruction, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or equivalent experience accepted. Hospital clinical environment experience also preferred. 

Valid Georgia Drivers license with insurable MVR
