Here’s how this role performs at Shepherd:

In this hands-on position, you team and patients will depend on you to perform any or all following functions for multiple outpatient specialty clinics and services to include: Managing schedule and scheduling appointments with appropriate service, staff, and disciplines for new evaluations, post discharges, follow up-visits, diagnostics, therapy, and counseling; Gathering referral and pre-registration information and processing appropriately; Verifying and obtaining necessary insurance information and consent documents; Processing patient registration and discharge; Maintaining systems, plus additional tasks and duties applicable to the role and environment.

Two years of scheduling, registration, re-certification and pre-certification experience is required, preferably in outpatient health care setting. Preferred education and certification includes Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA), Certified Healthcare Access Manager (CHAM) or Certified Patient Account Representative (CPAR), as well as one to two years of college/university education.
