Rehabilitation/Pain Psychologist - Part Time

Part-Time Rehabilitation/Pain Psychologist

 

The Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia, is recruiting a 32 hour per week (Mon-Thurs, 8 hrs per day), inpatient Rehabilitation Psychologist to work with patients with SCI, ABI, and other neuromedical conditions. This position will carry one team of 5-8 patients, and provide specialty pain psychology consultation service throughout the hospital. The Psychologist should have specialty training in rehabilitation, pain management, health/medical psychology, and/or ideally have inpatient hospital experience.

 

Primary responsibilities include active participation as a member of interdisciplinary teams, and providing comprehensive pain psychology consultation services, which may include pain assessment, consultation, pre-surgical evaluations, intervention and treatment recommendations, education, and individual, group and family counseling. The department currently has experienced psychology staff with services in spinal cord injury, brain injury, polytrauma, and pain management. The department also trains students, with mentoring/teaching opportunities available.

Qualifications:

     Position requires a PhD or PsyD from an APA-approved program in Clinical Psychology, and successful completion of a one or two-year postdoctoral fellowship/residency, or similar work experience, in a health-related Psychology position.

     Experience working on the inpatient setting and with interdisciplinary treatment teams is preferred.

     Psychologist licensed in the State of Georgia or eligible for licensure in Georgia.
